INTRODUCING: LAURA MISCH

There’s something magical about a person so unaware of the extreme talent they hold and few musicians possess this rare trait more than Laura Misch.

When you listen to Laura Misch's recorded stuff you expect to see a huge band on stage, but Misch did it all on her own, taking her time to curate each layer before singing over the top of her creation, it was magical. Her voice is simply stunning too, clearly jazz influenced and seemingly effortless.

All alone on stage in her University-town of Newcastle, Misch had a packed Cluny 2 in awe. Even in between songs there was no talking. There was barely time for the crowd to catch their breath before Misch stole it once more.

Laura Misch is one of the most talented musicians The Rodeo has had the pleasure of seeing but the fact she was so unaware of her brilliance, and was simply “trying stuff out”, as she told us, was refreshing and only increased our love for her. Misch was simply having fun on stage, something more artists should try.
