A MOMENT OF APPRECIATION: GENGAHR

It is time for another moment of appreciation for a band that, right now, can do no wrong.

Gengahr's long awaited second LP was simply stunning. The vocal variations are refreshing whilst sonically, it is summery yet purposeful. Each song is drenched in misery and darkness yet the psychedelic feel and falsetto vocals allow a shimmer of positivity to shine through.

Last weekend, The Rodeo got to witness their live show as they began their UK tour in Newcastle and again, we were blown away. The vocal prowess is even clearer in a live setting. The Gengahr boys simply have fun on stage and their infectious songs mean nobody was stood still.

Then this week, they demonstrated their brilliance once more, releasing an EP containing some acoustic versions of their second album songs. Their ability to craft an instrumental arrangement is impressive, both in the full versions and acoustic renditions. This EP shows they are able to maintain the recognisable structures of these songs whilst adding new elements and ingredients to keep it fresh and entertaining.

Gengahr have really hit the jackpot with this second record. Their return took longer than expected but in this time they have really grown as a band. Respect.
