INTRODUCING: ALEXANDRA SAVIOUR

Alexandra Saviour has been knocking about for a few years now and we're a little embarrassed we haven't mentioned her a whole lot. Her debut album 'Belladonna of Sadness' was released last year. It stayed well under the radar and never really got the recognition it deserves.

Co-written with Alex Turner, it's one of the strongest records out there lyrically speaking. Opening track 'Mirage' depicts Saviour's struggle to choose a stage name whilst 'Girlie' intelligently tells the tale of a popular socialite and the highs and lows of a Hollywood lifestyle. Her wordplay is impeccable.

Sonically it's pretty impressive too. It's got a retro feel and despite some moments where the wild-west sounds slip through, it is slinky and vintage. Turner, who also produced the record, has done a wonderful job creating a dark and mysterious mood throughout the record to match Saviour's despondent tales.

It's a shame Saviour isn't on tour with Turner's Arctic Monkeys as they return this year, but maybe that means she's got something else in store for us.
