INTRODUCING: SURGE

SURGE are a four piece from Essex that channel the Britpop era to create an infectious garage rock sound drizzled with synth delight. Their live shows have been said to embody the snarling edge of The Vaccines and The Libertines, whilst every review of them picks up on their insistent energy and tongue-and-cheek nature.

As they prepare to release their 5th single, 'Time and Again', this Friday on streaming platforms, SURGE have released the video for the indie pop tune. The track begins atmospherically with space-like synth sounds before the rolling drums kick in and drive the infectious riff to the forefront. The chorus is catchy and bound to be a sing-along hit amongst their increasingly growing fan base.

The video follows frontman George as he prepares his dog, Cosmo, for space travel. Dressed in Buzz Lightyear-like costumes, it begins with a farewell gig for Cosmo in front of a sign wishing him luck. This video epitomises SURGE's tongue-and-cheek nature, as George then goes on to teach Cosmo about space travel using diagrams, at which point the band become rather confused and perplexed, understandably. The journey ends with Cosmo launching from his tin-foil box from the beach. How he got on? We'll never know. What we do know however is this song is bound to bounce around your head for weeks on end. Check out the video below and add it to your playlists on Friday. These boys are good people doing good things. Make good decisions.
