RODEO ROAD TRIP: JAY PRITZKER PAVILION, MILLENNIUM PARK, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

One day The Rodeo dreams of hosting its very own concerts across the globe and we've already started scouting some potential venues. Yes, we're dreamin' and dreamin' big. Is it likely this will ever happen? Maybe not. That doesn't mean we ain't gonna try though. We began looking for some spots when we spent some time in the USA last month. Our first potential venue? Look no further than the Windy City, the home of Lollapalooza, Chicago.

Millennium Park is widely known for its art. The Art Institute of Chicago is delightfully positioned in the centre whilst the rest of the park features several pieces, including the world-famous sculpture, 'The Bean'. Millennium Park was one of our favourite spots in the US and sitting pretty in it is the Jay Pritzker Pavillion. Here, a small stage is surrounded by a dramatic structure. Behind the handful of seats in front of the stage, up a small step, is a long lawn stretching back a while. Not only is the stage surrounded by this beautiful sci-fi-like structure, the lawn offers the perfect place to host a summer festival and with the surrounding art, there will always be something to do.

So, who would be on the bill? We've gone for a couple of alt-rock artsy bands to match the beautiful art surrounding our new venue. Headlining will be The National and supporting will be Wolf Alice and Goat Girl. Each band has a distinct and unique sound but have a knack for crafting superb songs with intelligent lyrics and complex instrumentals. They all understand how to put on a show too and have the ability to curate an atmosphere that matches their sound. Each band uses art to enhance their live shows whether it be with lighting, their production or in the case of Goat Girl, sculptures of rather frightening looking goats. Then prior to these three bands we will scour Chicago, and the state of Illinois for the best local talent and give them a chance to put on a show of their own. It'll be a stellar day, when we get around to organising it.
