PREVIEW: TRNSMT (Sunday)

Arctic Monkeys will make a grand ol’ return to British festivals as they headline the final day of this year’s TRNSMT. The Monkeys’ headline slot is no doubt the highlight of the day however, there are plenty of bands to entertain you whilst waiting for Turner and Co. to arrive.

INTERPOL
The New York post-punk rockers took ‘Turn on the Bright Lights’ on an intimate anniversary tour last summer, playing the album in full as well as a handful of their biggest hits. Their slot as Glasgow Green will be their chance to showcase some new material, as well as the classics.

DECLAN McKENNA
McKenna’s brand of pop is more meaningful than he’s given credit for, but it's still full of glitter and fun. The youngster has already become a showman, and his set is certainly suited for festivals slots. His glitter-pop tunes will provide many opportunities for the crowd to dance away and release some adrenaline.

SIGRID
BBC’s Sound of 2018, there’s a sincerity to Sigrid’s sound. There’s a bright-eyed youthfulness to each song however she has plenty of explosive choruses up her sleeve too and right now, the world is her oyster, despite being the tender age of just 21.

ISLAND
Opening the King Tut’s Stage, Island’s alternative indie pop is sure to wake you up and getting you dancing.  Their tracks are chirpy and catchy, but the raw, husky vocals means their something a little bit different.
