As the sun prepared to sleep, Noel Gallagher and his High
Flying Birds soared onto stage with a rousing rendition of ‘Fort Knox’.
Eventually he pleased the parka monkeys with several Oasis tunes before playing
several more from the incredible Who
Built The Moon? He then played singalong favourites, ‘Wonderwall’ and
‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, letting the crowd sing the chorus a capella on the
latter before ending with a surprise inclusion of The Beatles, ‘All You Need Is
Love’. It was a solid set that highlighted the gulf in class between Noel and
his brother, with Noel’s voice as strong as ever, yet it lacked a touch of
energy at times.
