The darkness that invaded
Sziget a little earlier than expected suited the American alt-rockers by
highlighting their impressive light show, which accompanied the meticulous
instrumentals perfectly. Whilst a War on Drugs’ album is ideal for listening to
on a rain day, thunderstorms certainly don’t suit them in a live setting. However,
they embraced the monsoon-esque weather well, battling through, producing a set
that oozed class and that showed the quality of their latest long-play
adventure. It was a stellar showing, with nothing spectacular to report. The
War On Drugs have their recipe and they stick to it.
