PREVIEW: SZIGET

We're off to Budapest on Thursday for a touch of sightseeing and a couple more days of wonderful live music on the 'Island of Freedom'. Among the Hungarian heat, high-quality street food and vast array of entertainment, bands from all over the world will play across 9 days, with The Rodeo attending 2 days of the festival. Here's who we're looking forward to.

SUNDAY 12TH AUGUST
Dua Lipa headlines on Sunday evening and after her heroics in Paris, we're extremely excited for more. A longer set means more delights await us and we can't wait to see what the British superstar has in store. Just before Dua takes to the stage however, Wolf Alice headline the 'Mastered Stage by A38' which will no doubt be one of the highlights. The 2-time Mercury Prize nominated outfit are one of the UK's hottest bands right now and their set will no doubt combine new and old tracks effortlessly to create a memorable show. Ellie Rowsell has already grown into an all-conquering rock star and has no doubt become even more comfortable on stage as the 'Visions Of A Life' tour has rolled on. Also on the line-up are Slaves, who will likely play a handful of previews from their upcoming new album, whilst Liam Gallagher will also play however, The Rodeo will NOT be attending his set for fear of severe ear ache.

TUESDAY 14TH AUGUST
We will also be attending the final day of Sziget festival where Arctic Monkeys will perform and inevitably prove their class once more. The War on Drugs will precede AM on the main stage and after witnessing them at the inaugural All Points East in London, we're fascinated to see them once more after a stellar showing in the English capital. Blossoms will also play but will need to work hard to redeem themselves after a poor showing at this year's TRNSMT.

With a handful of superb superstars on the list, Sziget should prove to be a fantastic celebration of music.
