A brave beginning, with Grennan opening solo, just an acoustic guitar in hand, it was a promising start. However, despite his best efforts to keep
the audience entertained by putting every ounce of energy he possessed into the
gig, the set lacked a knockout blow. A genuine lad, clearly ecstatic at the sea
of people singing along, he continuously thanked the crowd and did his best to
ignite them. Yet despite his trying Grennan just fell short, his tunes lacking
the dynamism and individuality to keep the crowd fully entertained for an hour
and a half, the gig becoming passive far too often.
