Huey stumbles on stage propped up by a pair of crutches, taking his place on a plush red leather recliner. A small table is
placed next to him, various bottles of water litter it but the only drink
picked up all night is a whiskey-glass filled with liquor. Huey informs the
crowd he’s on a whole lot of booze and codeine in order to cope with the pain
of his broken leg, and because of this, the story-telling is kept to a minimum,
the trio opting to banter with each other instead. 'Fast' shows off his stupid musical talents, playing 20 instruments at once whilst UK-native, Frank, sits on the
drums and keeps the rhythm going throughout what is a funky-as-fuck set, filled
with old classics but also littered with brand new material the band are trying
out and tweaking as they play it live. A little long? Maybe. But there ain’t
many better ways to spend a Friday night.
