APE: MARIKA HACKMAN

The glorious Marika Hackman graced the North Stage early doors on Saturday in an angelic all white outfit, reflected by her pure performance in the London sun. Clearly happy to be there, Marika expressed her joy at being personally selected by Mumford and Sons to play a part in their Gentlemen of the Road takeover throughout the performance. She played a smattering of new and old songs, mainly from 2017’s I’m Not Your Man, filling the ears of the onlookers, who were mostly seated, enjoying expensive lager. Opening with “blahblahblah” before jumping into “My Lover Cindy” and “Good Intentions”, the glorious melodic hooks filled the summer air, before fan favourites “Time’s Been Reckless” and “Boyfriend” closed what was a wholesome performance.
